Black & Blueberry Sauce
The first time I made this berry sauce, it was for Christmas brunch at my husband's parents, which was also the first time I spent the holidays with them. His dad was convinced that we didn't need any more food, but I was determined to bring something to the table. Needless to say, serving this sauce with waffles was a hit, and there were barely any leftovers. I love adding cinnamon to sauces and sweeter dishes as it adds a warm and savoury note.

Ingredients:
- 2 cups mixture of blackberries and blueberries
- ½ cup cold water, divided
- 1 cup orange juice
- ½ to ¾ cup sugar
- 2 to 3 cinnamon sticks
- 3 tablespoons corn starch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
