The Cameron's Kick is a drink that, by looking at the ingredients, seems like an interesting concoction. That being said, everything about it is great. A smooth blend of both whiskeys, some sweetness from the Orgeat and tanginess from the lemon, this drink is great for everyone. I'd stray away from substituting Orgeat with orange bitters - it's not the same! This is your "delayed" 7th day of Christmas cocktails!
Ingredients: 1 oz. Scotch Whiskey 1 oz. Irish Whiskey 0.75 oz. Lemon juice 0.5 oz. Orgeat Shake with ice and strain into a chilled coupe. No garnish

No it's not a cloudy glass of wine. It's a good drink after a rough day. Any day. Every day. It's a classic example of a cocktail. This drink has a tangy zing with that wonderful gin kick. The Last word is your 6th day of Christmas cocktail. It offers both sweet and sour notes, a herbal aroma and guess what? Super easy to make!
Ingredients: 0.75 oz. Tangueray Gin 0.75 oz. Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur 0.75 oz. Green Chartreuse 0.75 oz. Lime juice Shake with ice and strain into a chilled coupe. No garnish required. Damn I love coupe glasses! Did the title get your attention? Good! The Conquistador... like rum? Like tequila? Or maybe you hate one or the other... or both! How about putting them both in the same glass? This 5th day of cocktails is very easy to drink. Anyone can enjoy it. First you'll get hit with the flavour of rum, followed by the citrus pops from the lemon, lime and orange. And all throughout this you'll have that hint of...I guess delicious tequila. In this drink, yes. As a shot I don't care how expensive it is no thanks! This drink is incredibly smooth but depending on how you like your drinks, you may find it on the flavourless side. This drink is far from strong, but it's still enjoyable!
Ingredients: 1 oz. Appleton Estate VX rum 1 oz. Patron Tequila 0.75 oz. Simple syrup 0.5 oz. Lemon juice 0.5 oz. Lime juice 2 Dashes orange bitters 1 Egg white Dry-shake, then shake with ice and strain into a chilled coup or rock glass. No garnish required. I'd say the drink to the right looks much more appealing. That's what the drink on the left would look like if BC wasn't silly and actually sold orange Curacao in its actual colour - orange. Maybe the LCBO has a product that got it right, because some brand here apparently thinks orange equals green. That being said, the South Slope is still a good cocktail. I wouldn't say its a total memorable one, but it's good! You'll get a full on citrusy taste with that kick of gin afterwards. A solid drink for some solid gin. This is your 4th day of Christmas.
Ingredients: 0.75 oz. Beefeater Gin 0.75 oz. Aperol 0.75 oz. Lillet Blanc 0.5 oz. Orange Curacao 0.5 oz. Lemon juice Shake with ice and strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a lemon twist. Okay, this may not be my favourite drink, but it's up there as one of the best I've had so far. Though I haven't seen Thor I envision drinking it, slamming down the glass and shouting "ANOTHER!" The Donga Punch is our 3rd day of Christmas! It's such a simple drink to throw together, and incorporates an ingredient I love throwing in holiday baked goods. Don's Mix contains both grapefruit juice and cinnamon syrups, so when you drink this goodie, you'll get the sweet and sour notes from the grapefruit and lime juice, and the best taste of cinnamon at the end. You could make your own mix at home, but I'd suggest at last checking out Don's. Yes I'll take another drink. Very smooth and quite refreshing.
Ingredients: 2 oz. Rhum Clément 1 1/2 Don's Mix 3/4 oz. Fresh lime juice Shake ingredients with crushed ice, then pour into your favourite tall or rock glass. Top with more crushed ice as needed. Who knew coconut sorbet would seem so hard to find. It's a popular flavour yet you'll find almost any other kind but in some stores. Nonetheless, found it - used it - loved it! And maybe ate a little on the side. The Coconut Colada is our creamy 2nd day of Christmas treat.
The first time we made this, Bacardi white rum was used and the drink wasn't shaken long enough (as decided by the taste). The lime seemed to be overpowering and the sorbet didn't seem as well mixed. Also, light rum I find is a subjective favourite, because the second time we used the dark Appleton estate vx and shook the drink much longer, which led to a much creamier, tastier drink. The taste of pineapple and rum will be enjoyed first, with a pleasant following of that oh so sweet coconut. Coconut lovers I know you're all out there. And who the hell doesn't like pineapple? Let's face it it's the first to go on a fruit tray. Enjoy ;) Ingredients: 2 oz. Appleton Estate VX rum 1 oz. Pineapple juice 0.5 oz. Lime juice 1 Scoop coconut sorbet Shake with ice and strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a lime wheel. So let's kick off this "twelve days of (Christmas) cocktails" with an escape from the crummy rainy weather or the wonderful snow and ice that leaves us scraping our windows and digging out cars. This is the Florida cocktail. You'll get both a sweet and citrusy flavour followed by a hint of delicious chocolate. You'll want a good rum for this. Save the cheap for the rum and coke nights. Escape winter blues with the taste of the peninsula. You really can't go wrong with this drink, so try it out.
